3M™ 4956 VHB™ Tape is a 62 mil double-coated acrylic foam tape in gray, measuring 1/2 inch wide by 5 yards per roll. The dark gray acrylic foam core carries acrylic adhesive on both sides, creating a permanent structural bond that replaces mechanical fasteners on metals, glass, and many plastics. The conformable foam construction ensures consistent surface contact on moderately irregular or mixed substrates where rigid fasteners would be impractical or add unwanted weight.
Rated from -40°F to 200°F with resistance to moisture, solvents, and UV exposure, this tape performs in both indoor and outdoor environments. It is commonly used in industrial fabrication for bonding pre-painted metals, mounting wiring ducts and conduit channels, attaching trim components, and assembling sheet metal enclosures.
