Description

3M™ 4956 VHB™ (Very High Bond) Tape is a 62 mil double-sided acrylic foam tape in a 3/4 inch wide by 5 yard roll. The dark gray foam core carries high-strength acrylic adhesive on both faces, creating a permanent structural bond capable of replacing mechanical fasteners — including rivets, screws, bolts, spot-welds, and liquid adhesives — in demanding industrial assembly work. The tape is UL746C listed.

The conformable foam construction allows the tape to seat firmly against irregular, curved, and mixed-material surfaces, making it well suited for manufacturing assembly lines, architectural panel installation, signage mounting, transportation component bonding, and electronics enclosure fabrication. It adheres to metals, glass, factory-painted surfaces, and most plastics without surface priming in many applications.

The tape withstands moisture, solvent exposure, and UV radiation, with a service temperature range of -40°F to 200°F. Each roll is sold individually and ships via parcel carrier.
